Michele Egar | Senior Branding Designer

From concepts and craft to pixels and production, I bring rich, meaningful ideas to brand identity projects which are then executed with accuracy, consistency and integrity across all touchpoints.

With a passion for creative and strategic design thinking through to delivery of highly useable and crafted brand identity guidelines, my extensive experience of working within multidisciplinary teams and for a wide range of global pharmaceutical companies, means that I have a solid understanding of what it takes to bring a healthcare brand identity to life – and to market.

I have worked across all stages of the brand identity lifecycle – from blending sound strategy with impactful visual narratives to bring brand stories to life, through to translating brand concepts into practical, consistent, print and digital-ready assets that can be applied in real-world. I have also been brand guardian for numerous global healthcare brands, and so know what it takes to maintain quality control and brand integrity across all agency outputs.

With a strong background as a multidisciplinary graphic designer, I have wealth of knowledge and experience of all things typographic, layout and composition, colour palettes, colour values/systems across all formats and platforms. Having worked for global healthcare advertising agencies and pharmaceutical companies for over a decade, I understand the unique challenges and requirements this sector presents and the commitment to attention-to-detail, integrity and accuracy needed to help clients successfully launch, grow and maintain their brands within the global healthcare market.

  • I work with global, European, regional and local markets’s brands alike. Recent clients have included Abbvie, Astellas, Bavarian Nordisk, Boehringer Ingleheim, Gilead, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer and Philips.

I am a highly proactive client-facing senior designer, with the ability to clearly and persuasively present my work and rationale behind it.

I work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, having worked for years with account directors, strategists, project managers, creative directors, art directors, fellow designers and studio departments. I am just as able to work completely autonomously having run my own small design studio and worked as a freelance designer too. I have a highly flexible and adaptive approach to working – it all depends on the requirements of the project or brief, but in any scenario, I will always bring professionalism, proactivity, positivity and a commitment to providing the highest possible level of service and delivery.

  • I am fully committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace (and beyond), and was the LGBTQI+ representative in my previous employers’ Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiative for several years.

Over that time, I helped to promote the unit as a whole by creating a brand identity and subsequent materials and worked with HR and internal recruitment teams to redevelop the agency’s employee policies, employee handbook etc. so that all touch points were attractive to new talent and inclusive for employees.

I also worked to promote, support and educate on LGBTQI+ issues, by creating social posts and PDFs, by highlighting key calendar dates with educational materials and by arranging social events – including a Boogaloo Stu Bingo night for Pride Month.

I endeavour to promote inclusivity and representation in my design work too whether it’s by selecting a diverse range of people to represent patient profiles in a given brand campaign, or ensuring typography is legible, UX and UI design is based on inclusion and that colour palettes meet accessibility guidelines .
